To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Beijing Women Journalists Association Choir released a single song — Ode to the Jasmine Flower.  With the folk song The Jasmine Flower setting the tune, Ode to the Jasmine Flower reflects cross-cultural communication and the fusion of ancient and modern civilizations. Most of the song is finished by a woman chorus, supplemented by the singing style of Kunqu Opera and accompanied by erhu, flute and other musical instruments.  "Young media workers hope to show the world their enthusiasm while being devoted to duties. They not only want to broaden horizons, but also bring Chinese culture to every corner of the world," said Chen Yun, President of the Beijing Women Journalists Association.  The choir, set up in 2017 as the first women Journalists Association Choir in the capital, and is made up of journalists, presenters and directors from major news organizations.   (Source: China Women's News/ Translated and edited by Women of China)
